Adele Told Jennifer Lawrence Not To Make Passengers

If you don’t, it’s not your fault. The movie was a critical failure even though it was a reasonable box office success, grossing $303.1 million worldwide against a $110 million budget.

Full disclosure, I saw Passengers and did not like it — and, as it turns out, Jennifer feels the same way about the film.

In a new interview with the New York Times, Jennifer revealed that she considers Passengers as an example of when her fans realized that some of the movies she was starring in weren’t exactly top-quality flicks.

“I was like, ‘Oh no, you guys are here because I’m here, and I’m here because you’re here. Wait, who decided that this was a good movie?’” she said.

As it turns out, Jennifer was warned about accepting her role in Passengers — and who was the person who warned her? Freakin’ Adele, that’s who.

“Adele told me not to do it!” Jennifer claimed. “She was like, ‘I feel like space movies are the new vampire movies.’ I should have listened to her.”

This isn’t the first time recently that Jennifer’s reflected on her career choices in the 2010s. Last month, she admitted to feeling like she “lost control” of her career after acting in The Hunger Games films.

“When I reflect now, I can’t think of those following years, [because there was] just a loss of control,” she told an audience at the London Film Festival, after stating that “between The Hunger Games coming out and winning the Oscar, I became such a commodity that I felt like every decision was a big, big group decision.”
