Yakup I of Germiyan was the Turkmen founder of the Germiyanid Beylik in Kutahya. He was the son of Kerimüddin Alişir. He refused to recognize the authority of Seljuk Sultan Mesud II and swore allegiance to the Ilkhanids, which led to the establishment of his state. His reign was the most powerul period of Germiyanids. He declared the independence of his Beylik in 1300 and conquered several territories of the Byzantne Empire. He was then succeeded by his son Mehmud Bey. You can watch my detailed video on the History of Germiyan Beylik and their rivalry with the Ottomans. Link of video is given in the comment section 👇
