On this day, October 2, 1187, Saladin Ayyubi conquered Jerusalem. The Ayyubid army under the command of Saladin defeated the Crusaders in the decisive Battle of Hattin in 1187 AD and then on Friday, October 2, liberated the city of Jerusalem, including Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Palestine from the Crusaders. Someone asked Salahuddin Ayyubi why you don’t smile. So Salahuddin replied – How can I smile and eat and drink while Al-Aqsa Mosque is in the hands of the Crusaders? We pray to Allah that such a great conqueror will be born who will unite the Muslim Ummah under one flag and free Al-Aqsa Mosque from the hands of the Crusaders. Amen
