5-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Get Surprise Shopping Spree And Decides To Donate The Toys To Others

Zander Wiles is a cancer survivor. He was first diagnosed with leukemia at just 8 months old. He then spent the next two years undergoing chemotherapy. Thankfully, Zander is finally in remission at 5 years old.

Zander was recently surprised with every kid’s dream. He was gifted a shopping spree at Burlington Coat Factory. He was given a cart and told he could have as many toys as he could fit into it.

“It feels a little overwhelming. It’s really reassuring and good that everyone comes together to support the Leukemia Lymphoma Society,” Zander’s mom, Brooke Wiles said in footage provided by WXMI.

Zander and his mom came up with an idea for the toys. “That’s why we wanted to share the donation with the hospital, because we’ve received a lot of support,” she explained.

Zander picked out a toy for himself and one for his sister. The rest will go to the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Brooke feels it’s important to teach her kids to give back to a community that supported them so much. Even though he knew he wasn’t going home with the whole haul, Zander had a great time picking out toys for the other kids. Brooke says she and her kids are so thankful for their time together that they’ll do anything they can to brighten another family’s days.

“We are really are looking forward to the future,” Brooke said.

Zander’s moving gift is one that will continue to reverberate throughout the hospital in the days and months to come as children enjoy the toys he donated.
