2 Cheerleaders Nail ‘Most Difficult’ Routine At Stunt Championship, Leave 600,000 People Floored

Kollin Cockrell spent 10 years tirelessly training to be a part of the US Olympic weightlifting team. When an injury took him out of the running for the 2016 Olympics, he thought his dreams were shattered.

Never did Kollin think a trip to his local gym would change the course of his life. A cheerleader from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah noticed Kollin working out and thought he would make a great addition to their team. She asked him if he’d be open to trying out, despite the fact he had no prior cheerleading experience and no intention of ever becoming a male cheerleader.

Kollin’s audition was so impressive that Weber State offered him a scholarship. Something inside him urged him to make the unexpected transition from Olympic lifting to college cheerleading.

After taking his place on Weber State’s Spirit Squad, Kollin was paired up with a stunt partner named Mekenzie Grabau. Together, they came up with an exceptionally difficult routine and spent hours and hours making sure each and every step was absolutely perfect. Mekenzie, 21, says it is the most difficult stunt routine she’s ever performed.

The duo recently competed in the National Cheerleaders Association’s partner stunt championship — but they had no idea a crowd member’s video of their jaw-dropping routine would go massively viral in days. People are freaking out over these stunts.

It seems Kollin was fated to try out for the Spirit Squad, after all.
