While trying to make a good drama, Bozdag made Osman look stupid.
Earlier in the season, Bozdag showed Osman so powerful that he was even putting spies in Constantinople, and playing chicken with the Roman Emperor, which is historically baseless.
The same Osman couldn’t put one single spy in Konya and had no clue what was going on. The same Osman who defeated Geyhato, who used to control Roman Emperor, is portrayed as a chicken before a broken Seljuk empire led by a child and a woman.
You wonder why? There is an important political message here:
Bozdag wants to show that Osman and Kayi are true victims of oppression. Osman establishing a state while a Seljuk Turkish State was still in existence was not out of his ambition but as a mean for survival. Bozdag is trying to make a strong case for the collapse of Seljuk and rise of Osman.
