“I understand that everyone should get the wedding that they want but this couple made a huge mistake, they decided that the ceremony and reception should be in the same place, one right after the other and didn’t tell the uninvited that they were only invited to the reception,” they recalled.
“Cue all the Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and second cousins showing up 15 minutes ‘early for the ceremony’ but actually walking into the middle of the ceremony, unintentionally interrupting it, and standing around embarrassed, checking their invites, thinking they are late. Since both were held at the same location everyone knew space was not an issue so the uninvited knew that the couple simply did not want them at the ceremony. The reception was awkward and tense with a lot of hurt feelings, especially from the older relatives.”
