Sultan Muhammad Alparslan had only 50,000 soldiers when he decided to confront the 2 Lac army of Roman Dyojin in the Battle of Malazgirt.

But with this smaller force, Alparslan defeated the large Byzantine army on the blessed day of Friday, 26 August 1071.

The Battle of Malazgirt is one of the most crucial incidents and a turning point in world history. The victory allowed the Muslims to establish an individual state, the Anatolian branch of the Seljuks.
