Muslims were treated as slaves in the subcontinent under British rule. In the first episode of Payitaht Abdulhamid, I saw how British of the subcontinent spread propaganda against Caliph Abdulhamid.
They published an article in a newspaper with a picture of Muslims praying in a Mosque while wearing shoes. So they wrote, “Muslims are free to practice their religion under British rule, and the Ottoman Caliphate has no power anymore.”
Sultan Abdulhamid, however, read that article and realized the picture was fake because a Muslim would never wear shoes in a Mosque.
It was only one scene that revealed the actual faces of the British. There is much more that I will continue to share in my review videos.
