Atlanta performer Takeoff, best known for being one-third of the rap group Migos, has been shot and killed, a representative confirmed to AP.

The 28-year-old, whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball was allegedly involved in an altercation over a dice game at a bowling alley in Houston, according to TMZ, when he was fatally shot around 2.30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Houston Police tweeted at 3 a.m. that they attended a shooting and a deceased person was found on the scene.

Houston police confirmed that Ball, alongside Quavo, another member of Migos, was at the event. Police said they were not confirming the identity of the deceased until his family is notified.

“Looks like he’s been shot in the head or neck, possibly,” said a Houston Police officer in an interview.

TMZ first reported that Takeoff was the victim, then Rolling Stone also confirmed the news.

Two other victims were shot and taken to hospital, the police department said.

Graphic videos and photos circulating social media showed a person who looked like Quavo attempting to help an unresponsive body.
