Ibn Jubayr records in his travelogue regarding his visit to Makkah in 579 AH that a Masjid was present upon the birthplace of Rasūlullāh ﷺ and people would visit it to seek blessings on Mondays in Rabī’ al-Awwal.
At this time the ruler of Ḥaramayn Sharifayn was Sultān Salāḥ ud-Dīn al-Ayyūbī ash-Shāfi’ī al-Ash’arī al-Qādirī.
