“You better not be pregnant, let alone be about to have puppies, okay?!”
On the night of November 27, 2017, all Sarah Clemons wanted to do was come home from work, relax and enjoy her dinner.
She did not get her wish.
You see, Sarah had been fostering a Staffordshire bull terrier named Tequila who’d been abandoned by her family. Judging by her full ‘milk bags,’ Sarah assumed Tequila had given birth just before they met.
But then the sudden change in Tequila’s behavior. She began heavily panting, pacing and moving positions to get more comfortable.
Sarah was, admittedly, “ignorant to the whole pregnancy thing” — because not only was Tequila pregnant, she was going into labor that very night! No one at the shelter told her Tequila was expecting a litter.
Since she had never experienced a pregnant dog before, Sarah rushed Tequila to the vet to make sure everything was handled appropriately.
Tequila delivered three healthy puppies that night. All four have since been adopted into their loving forever homes.
