Vanessa Bryant recently revealed that she got tattoos in honor of her husband, Kobe, and their daughter Gianna. The two were killed in a horrific helicopter accident in January 2020.

Vanessa posted several videos from her tattoo appointment online. She visited tattoo artist Nikko Hurtado.

She explained that she “wanted my boo boo’s @kobebryant sweet message transferred on me” before adding that she got the tattoos back in February. “Shoutout to @nikkohurtado for coming over and helping me get my Gigi’s sweet message transferred on me. #throwbacktoFebruary.”

Several of the couple’s friends and family members have also gotten tattoos to honor Kobe and Gianna. NBA stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis have each shared photos of their own tattoos.

Vanessa also recently marked what would have been Gianna’s graduation from eighth grade. In her post on Instagram, she wrote “Congratulations on your 8th grade graduation Gigi. I love you forever and always. I’m so proud of you. ❤️, Mommy #classof2020.”

She surprised some recently when it was revealed that she plans to seek “hundreds of millions” in damages from the company that operated the helicopter her husband and daughter traveled on. The case summary explains that “As a result of Kobe Bryant’s and GB’s deaths, Vanessa Bryant seeks economic damages, non-economic damages, prejudgment interest, punitive damages, and other relief as the Court deems just and proper” and that “although the total specific amount of personal injury damages the plaintiff seeks is TBD, Kobe Bryant’s future lost earnings equal hundreds of millions of dollars.”
