Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are keeping fans updated on their health. On Wednesday evening, the couple took to Instagram to share that they had been diagnosed with COVID-19 after traveling in Australia. Tom was there doing pre-production work on a new Elvis Presley film while Rita was promoting her new album.
The couple shared a selfie on Thursday evening with an update on their health. Despite their circumstances, they are smiling. “Hello folks. @ritawilson and I want to thank everyone here Down Under who are taking such good care of us,” the photo’s caption reads.
“We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else. There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness. We are taking it one-day-at-a-time. There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no? Remember, despite all the current events, there is no crying in baseball. Hanx.”
Tom and Rita are among the 120 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Australia, according to the World Health Organization. Their diagnosis forced Australia’s Nine Network to come up with a plan of action. Rita appeared on their morning show on Monday. The Sydney Opera House, where she performed last Saturday, is also reaching out to those who may have been impacted.
