We all know that letting down your parents is the absolute worst. That’s why it hurts so bad when mom says, “I’m not mad, I’m disappointed.” But there’s always a chance to make it right.
Hanss Mujica is a young man in Texas who recently set things right with his parents. Mujica says he was kicked out of university, and telling his parents was one of the worst moments ever. But he turned it around, and in an incredibly sweet Facebook post, shared how he surprised them with tickets to his graduation ceremony:
He wrote in the post:
They’ve always said that the greatest gift you can ever gift your parents, is the gift of education. I’ve planned for this moment for so long and it finally came. A few years ago, I was suspended from the university. Yes. I’m not afraid to admit it.
The look on my parents face of disappointment was truly unbearable. I told myself that day that I would never do anything to ever disappoint them again. Here we are a few years later… planning a surprise photoshoot for my parents.
They thought it was a family shoot for a project… little did they know it was my graduation announcement. Inside the envelope laid the two invitation tickets for my graduation. “Por ustedes empecé, por ustedes acabe…” Gracias mamá y papá!
In the pictures, Mujica sneaks up behind his parents with a sign explaining that they have no idea he is graduating, as they read a letter giving them the news:

They turn and see him, and by now, everyone is crying:
