This is such a heartbreaking story, but it looks as though it’ll have a happy ending — and it’s a very teachable lesson for pet owners everywhere.
A dog named Roadie was found tied up to a tree in Johnson County, Indiana. She was dumped there, all alone in the middle of nowhere, by her previous owner.
When rescuers finally got to her, they discovered that Roadie came with a message. They found a plastic bottle attached to her collar containing a handwritten explanation from the person who left her there.
Animal advocates say that the owner should have taken Roadie to a local animal shelter and surrendered her there safely, instead of leaving her outside where she could have been hurt or killed.
