On June 11, 2019, 16-year-old Riley Horner was attending a dance when a fellow student accidentally kicked her in the head while attempting to crowd surf.
This one frightening incident has changed everything for the teen from Kirkland, Illinois.
After rushing to the hospital, Riley’s mom Sarah says the doctor diagnosed her daughter with a concussion and sent her home with a pair of crutches.
“They tell us there’s nothing medically wrong,” Sarah told WQAD. “They can’t see anything. You can’t see a concussion though on an MRI or a CT scan. There’s no brain bleed, there’s no tumor.”
But Riley’s condition only seemed to worsen. She has since suffered multiple seizures and has been going back and forth to the hospital ever since.
Doctors are baffled because every morning, Riley wakes up thinking it’s June 11th, the same day she sustained the traumatic head injury…
