Tom Corby, 45, is about to head into his 20th year at New Egypt High School in New Jersey. The beloved history teacher has been and continues to be adored by his students and fellow teachers alike.

As the end of the school year approached, students from Tom’s AP Government and AP U.S. History classes wanted to find a way to show their appreciation for all his tireless work and dedication… and they came up with the perfect gift.

Every day, for four years straight, Tom entered the ticket lottery to see the award-winning show “Hamilton” on Broadway. He dreamt of seeing the show, especially as a history teacher, but tickets are notoriously expensive and hard to come by.

But Tom never won the lotto for cheap tickets, which meant every day in class he received a notification that he didn’t win. His students always felt so bad to see him disappointed.

Recently, Tom’s students secretly began chatting over group texts to make their beloved teacher’s dream come true.

The clip below went viral, even catching the attention of “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Tom told Inside Edition that he struggled to hold back his tears. “You can see my reaction at the point is like unbelievable, I was at a loss for words that they would do something like this,” he said. “It was mesmerizing. I appreciate it so much.”
