Stars Lovingly Remember Iconic Producer Garry Marshall: ‘One Of The All-Time Heroes Of My Life’

Garry Marshall was one of the many celebrities we, unfortunately, lost in 2016. But even though it’s been some time, his friends and supporters will never forget him.

Garry was a director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. While his name has been attached to many titles, one of his biggest accomplishments was creating the television series Happy Days. He got his start as a comedy writer, writing up jokes for The Tonight Show with Jack Paar. His career was very important in the industry. Everyone wanted a chance to work with him.

Several of the celebrities he’s helped launch the careers of have given him memorial speeches in the past. Everyone always had nothing but kind words. But this compilation is truly something else. Filmed before social distancing took place, Entertainment Tonight shared a magical moment where his Happy Days cast. and others, looked back at his career. Most of them admitted that he was a big part of launching theirs.

But, it’s not just Henry Winkler and Ron Howard whose lives were changed. Garry worked with Julia Roberts when he directed Pretty Woman, and she had nothing but kind words to say about him. “Garry Marshall was just one of the all-time heroes of my life experience,” she said. At the time, she was more or less an unknown. But Garry knew she was a star in the making.
