The folks at FOX4 wanted to do something special for all the fans tailgating before the Kansas City Chiefs played the San Francisco 49ers. The news crew hosted the team’s most dedicated superfans at their own studio.

Dan Boos pulled up to the celebration in his custom-painted Chiefs bus. He hadn’t missed a home game in 29 years, but this one would end in a devastating medical scare.

It was only 68 degrees outside that day, but in Dan’s interview below you can see him wiping sweat off his brow. He appears a bit warm and uncomfortable, but gets through the short, casual interview.

Viewers didn’t know it at the time and neither did anyone sitting on Dan’s bus… but his sweaty forehead was a warning sign that danger was ahead.

Dan fell to the floor just moments after his interview. He had no pulse and he wasn’t breathing. His frantic wife, Terri, began screaming for someone to call 911.

As it turned out, Dan had just suffered a massive heart attack that came on very quickly and without any warning, other than feeling hot and sweaty on the mild afternoon.

Dan woke up in the hospital 12 days later and the doctors are now calling him a miracle. But if it wasn’t for the FOX4 team — especially traffic reporter Kerri Stowell — Dan may not be here today.
