Spoon Spank refers to a series of TikTok parody videos in which TikTok users use a spoon to pet and then spank a cute pet on the behind to an acoustic guitar sound clip.
Origin
On January 27, 2019, YouTube channel Top YTube uploaded a compilation of the “Lass mich in Ruhe – Julio CG” sound clip parodies (shown below). The sound clip has been used in 271,500 videos on TikTok. Most of the videos involve slapping other people.
Spread
On March 4th, 2019, TikTok user TürkiyeYaşamTarzı upload the first jelly dessert bunny spank video and sound clip (shown below). The video gained 648,500 likes and 69,700 shares in nine days.
The TürkiyeYaşamTarzı sound clip was used in 7,200 videos in nine days (shown below). The videos used with this soundclip did not involve a spoon but did involve spanking pets and jello.
On March 6th, TikTok user hiralp02979 uploaded a new sound clip and spanked a line of Gelatin bunnies (shown below). The video accumulated 927,700 likes and 96,300 shares in seven days.
Th hiralp02979 sound clip was used in 33,500 videos within seven days (shown below). These videos featured spoons to refer back to hiral02979’s original video.
