Shakira And Jennifer Lopez Win The Super Bowl LIV With Their Celebration Of Latinx Culture Show

Shakira and Jennifer Lopez totally stole the show at Super Bowl LIV! The 14-minute long show was action-packed and featured many of the ladies’ greatest hits.

Shakira began the show with her 2009 hit “She Wolf.” The superstar, who also celebrated her 43rd birthday yesterday, performed a medley of her hits. She included her first crossover single “Whenever, Wherever,” which came out nearly 20 years ago. Shakira brought out Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, who joined her for a rendition of “I Like It.” Then, she transitioned into one of her biggest hits “Hips Don’t Lie,” where she surprised the crowd by diving into the audience, crowd-surfer style.

Jennifer Lopez then took over, beginning with “Jenny From The Block.” It quickly changed over to “Love Don’t Cost A Thing,” for which Colombian rapped J Balvin joined her.

The biggest surprise from J. Lo came when she brought out a chorus of little girls to sing the beginning of “Let’s Get Loud,” led by her 11-year-old daughter Emme. An overhead shot of the field during the performance showed a giant cross, which lit up in purple and yellow in memory of Kobe Bryant and 13-year-old daughter Gianna. Some fans complained about missing the tribute and wished it had been more prominently displayed during the show.

Overall, the performance was a celebration of Latinx culture while still feeling very much like American entertainment. Shakira and Jennifer finished the show out together, dancing on the podium as the crowd went wild.
