There is no denying Joey Tribbiani had his fair share of love interests on Friends. All it took was his signature “How you doin’?” — and women were swooning over the soap opera actor.

So, it should not have come as a huge surprise when Joey, who was played by Matt LeBlanc, started dating his longtime friend Rachel Green.

The two hit it off in Barbados when Joey sees his then-girlfriend, Charlie Wheeler, kissing Ross — which prompts him to kiss Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), who had already been not-so-secretly crushing on Dr. Drake Ramoray. Fourteen years after the finale, fans of the comedy series are still upset that Joey and Rachel ended up as, well, friends.

“I say this every time I finish Friends but I’m gonna say it again: RACHEL AND JOEY SHOULD HAVE ENDED UP TOGETHER!!,” one pro-Jochel fan tweeted. Another agreed, writing, “Y’all ever watch Friends and get really annoyed with the fact that Joey and Rachel didn’t end up together because same.”

Rachel and Joey aside, even the biggest Friends fans have a hard time keeping track of all of Joey’s famous love interests. From Susan Sarandon as Cecilia Monroe to Kristin Davis as librarian Erin, Joey’s love life was definitely not DOA. Keep scrolling to see what some of Joey’s most memorable love interests look like today!

Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston)

Season 9, Episode 24 — “The One in Barbados: Part 2”

After kissing in Barbados, Joey and Rachel start dating on the series — but ultimately decide they are better off as friends. Rachel goes on to get back with Ross while Joey ends up alone.

But he did get his own spin-off shortly after the finale!

Erika (Brooke Shields)

Season 2, Episode 12 — “The One After the Super Bowl: Part 1”

Joey learned the hard way that you should never date your stalker — or anyone who thinks you are really the character you play on a soap opera.

Cecilia Monroe (Susan Sarandon)

Season 7, Episode 15 — “The One With Joey’s New Brain”

After seeking Cecilia’s (aka Jessica Lockhart) advice on how to play her on Days of Our Lives, where he is expected to receive her brain in a transplant, the two actors hook up. However, after she hands the role over to Joey, she lands a new part in Mexico and is never seen again.

Janine Lecroix (Elle Macpherson)

Season 6, Episode 7 — “The One Where Phoebe Runs” (First appearance)

Joey started dating his stunning new Australian roommate, but her inability to get along with Monica and Chandler was not something Joey was able to overlook. Let’s just say she moved out right away.

Kristen (Gabrielle Union)

Season 7, Episode 17 — “The One With the Cheap Wedding Dress”

After moving into the neighborhood, Kristen found herself in the middle of a love triangle between Ross and Joey. However, the guys were so busy competing against each other, they didn’t even notice her leave the table.

Erin (Kristin Davis)

Season 7, Episode 7 — “The One With Ross’ Library Book”

Erin might have gotten along with Rachel and Phoebe, but the librarian found Joey “boring and predictable.”

Ursula (Lisa Kudrow)

Season 1, Episode 16 “The One With Two Parts: Part 1”

Joey falls for Phoebe’s estranged sister — but it’s Phoebe who has to dump Joey gently. That’s what friends are for, right?

Charlie Wheeler (Aisha Tyler)

Season 9, Episode 20 — “The One With the Soap Opera Party” (First appearance)

Charlie dated Joey over the course of four episodes on the series, but it wasn’t long before she realized she had more in common with fellow paleontologist Ross. However, Rachel was there to mend Joey’s broken heart in Barbados.

Katie (Soleil Moon Frye)

Season 5, Episode 15 — “The One With the Girl Who Hits Joey”

Turns out Joey doesn’t like girlfriends who get physical. Luckily, he didn’t need six sweaters to soften the blow of their breakup — Rachel was there to help.

Sarah (Annie Parisse)

Season 10, Episode 9 — “The One With the Birth Mother”

Sarah took Joey’s fries and everyone knows “JOEY DOES NOT SHARE FOOD.” Needless to say, that relationship did not end well, and Joey was not even a tiny bit sorry.

Kate (Dina Meyer)

Season 3, Episode 19 — “The One With the Tiny T-Shirt” (First appearance)

Despite sharing “the night,” Kate, who starred with Joey in a play, left him for a soap opera role in LA. TBH, we’re still not over Joey’s farewell speech.

Kathy (Paget Brewster)

Season 4, Episode 6 — “The One With the Dirty Girl” (First appearance)

Kathy ends up trading Joey for his BFF Chandler — and plot twist: she cheats on him! You know what they say, bros before…
