TL;DR: One of the first Pokémon games to come to a home console, Pokémon Sword, can be pre-ordered for $59.99, and Prime members get a $10 Amazon credit.
Greetings from the Galar Region, y’all.
A new trailer for Pokémon Sword and Shield was released on Aug. 7, featuring new Galarian forms of Pokémon like Weezing, Zigzagoon, and Morpeko (Full Belly Mode and Hangry Mode, to be clear).
Your wait for the Nov. 15 release of both versions of the game isn’t over yet, but it just got easier: Prime members can pre-order Pokémon Sword for $59.99 and get a free $10 Amazon credit with their purchase.
Ordering Sword (vs. Shield) gets you exclusive Sword-only legendary Pokémon like Zacian and exclusive gym leaders like Bea, a fighting-type expert. (Find a full list of known differences between the versions here.) The eighth series of the game features a lot of that classic ’90s RPG plus a few new things to do: Co-operative raids (pour one out for Pokémon Go) and jumps from countryside towns to Victorian cottages and snow-capped mountains.
Both do, however, have the same three new starter Pokémon: Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble. You’ll have to buy the game to see what those evolutions look like.
