Phyllis Jones and Irene Crump are the oldest twins in the United Kingdom. The 102-year-old sisters celebrated their birthday on November 20, 2018.

Phyllis and Irene were born in 1916, and they’ve lived through a lot. They’ve been around for 20 prime ministers, four monarchs, and two world wars. Despite all they’ve lived through, the elderly women say they don’t feel like they’re 102.

“We can’t grasp that we are 102 because we don’t feel it,” Irene explained. “We got no rheumatism, arthritis,  I mean, we’re very lucky in that way.”

The twins live together, and their children check on them regularly. They also have home attendants who help care for them.

When they turned 100, the sisters each got a card from Queen Elizabeth, congratulating them on their birthdays.

So what’s the secret to living a long, healthy life? According to these women, it’s booze.

“I used to love a drink. I enjoy a drink of anybody. I don’t like one drink, I like two or three. I used to love a Guinness. Every night I had a Guinness,” Irene said.

But that’s not the only thing that’s kept them alive so long — they also eat well and exercise regularly.
