First, the hand sanitizer sold out at grocery stores across the U.S. due to the coronavirus (COVID-19). Then the soap. Then the toilet paper.

Now, it’s the pasta, apparently.

In a viral video, an elderly Italian man, who is upset over the lack of pasta in his local grocery store, says, “There wasn’t this much panic when WWII started.”

The video quickly went viral as many feel as the man’s relatable reaction is a whole mood.

He’s become something of an icon for people who are sick of the hysteria surrounding the coronavirus.

“I genuinely hope this old Italian man complaining about the lack of pasta due to the coronavirus is doing well I love him,” Twitter user @adamdriverology wrote.

Some users feel there should be another way to solve the pasta shortage problem.

“I am honestly surprised that Italians can’t just materialize more pasta from a single noodle like Jesus Christ with Fish,” Twitter user @mattaway88 wrote.

When the observation that he was not wearing a mask was made, it became pretty clear why he didn’t need to.

“He survived Mussolini,” Twitter user @jkshackleford wrote. “He doesn’t need a mask.”

The coronavirus has so far killed 4,200 people and infected 115,000 others worldwide. Panic buying is being warned against, with one doctor who is an infectious disease expert, Abdu Sharkawy, claiming that mass hysteria surrounding the coronavirus has the potential to be more dangerous than the coronavirus itself.
