Kim Santos was outside in the parking lot of her apartment complex with her 3-year-old daughter when the unthinkable happened.
All of a sudden, Kim got a strange feeling that something just wasn’t right. She looked up to see a man wearing a mask running toward them. At first, the mom from Elk Grove, California, stood frozen in shock as the incident seemed to unfold in slow motion.
Kim pushed her daughter away to protect her from their attacker, but he came at her with such force that he left her bruised and cut.
It was when the crazed masked man went to grab her daughter that Kim’s maternal instincts kicked into high gear.
She refused to let him take her child away — so she started to fight back as her daughter stood by, crying in fear.
