Memers Won’t Stop Telling McDonald’s Employees “Cactus Jack Sent Them”

Two weeks ago, when McDonald’s released the much-anticipated Travis Scott Meal, aka the “Cactus Jack Meal,” aka the Travis Scott Burger, fans salivated at the chance to order a Double Quarter Pounder, fries and Sprite the way Travis Scott aka Cactus Jack orders it. We all knew we wanted Sprite Scott’s way, i.e., with extra ice, we just didn’t know how to order it. Well, McDonald’s finally made the hypebeasts of the world happy by giving them an easy ordering method: Just tell them “Cactus Jack sent you.”

The phrase comes from McDonald’s Lil Penny-inspired commercial. Towards the end of the ad, which explains that the Travis Scott meal comes with barbeque sauce for fries, the stop-motion Travis Scott says, “Tell ’em Cactus Jack sent you.” Cactus Jack being Travis Scott’s self-ascribed nickname and not the 90s professional wrestling alter ego of Mick Foley.

The instructions have given memers and TikTokers plenty to play with. Videos on TikTok feature customers telling employees who sent them. They’d also started the “You Know Why I’m Here” trend, in which customers tell drive-thru attendants “You know why I’m here” and play Scott’s hit “Sicko Mode” on their car’s stereo.

On Twitter, things have taken a different route. Memers have begun depicting the experience of McDonald’s employees dealing with Travis Scott fans, which is much more satisfying than annoying drive-thru attendants on TikTok.
