Meghan Markle made her first official appearance since returning from maternity leave. On Thursday, the Duchess of Sussex attended the launch of her capsule women’s workwear line for Smart Works. The charity, which Meghan is the royal patron of, helps women in need through the hiring process with interview training and professional attire.
All eyes were on Meghan at the event, who modeled two pieces from the line for the launch. She wore a white button-down shirt designed by friend Misha Nonoo. She also wore black dress pants designed by Jigsaw for the line. Meghan chose some meaningful accessories to complete her look, even giving a nod to late mother-in-law Princess Diana.
Meghan had on a pair of butterfly earrings that belonged to the Princess of Wales. Diana wore them on a trip to Canada on May 3, 1986, one year after she gave birth to Prince Harry. While the pieces were easy to miss, getting lost in Meghan’s flowing hair, she also wore a cuff bracelet that belonged to Diana. The gold cuff features diamonds and blue stones. Diana wore the bracelet while visiting the Lord Gage Centre for Old People, a Guinness Trust Home, in East London in 1990.
It isn’t the first time that Meghan has worn the accessories. She paired the two during her and Prince Harry’s trip to Australia last October.
