Lady Gaga had one heck of an Oscars night. She won her first-ever Oscar for her work in A Star is Born, delivered a heart-stopping performance with Bradley Cooper, and — wait, did you see that rock around her neck?!
Lady Gaga has always had a passionate fanbase, but people love her more than ever after her role as Ally in A Star is Born. The film received eight Academy Award nominations, including best picture, best actor, and best actress.
The movie only took home one of those awards, unfortunately, and it went to Gaga herself. She won the Oscar for best original song for “Shallow” of A Star is Born.
Moments before, Gaga and Bradley performed “Shallow” together on stage. It was an intense, emotional performance that people will be talking about for quite some time.
“Bradley, there is not a single person on the planet that could have sang this song with me than you,” Gaga said in her acceptance speech.
Gaga also had a shot at winning best actress, but she lost to The Favourite‘s Olivia Colman.
Awards and performances aside, people couldn’t help but notice the legendary piece of jewelry around Gaga’s neck. She wore a priceless, world-famous diamond whose last wearer was none other than Audrey Hepburn.
