Coronavirus is here in America, and everyone, including celebrities, are taking it very seriously. While no one has said that anyone on the set has been exposed, Joy Behar from The View is acting with an abundance of caution and taking a leave of absence from the show.
Joy announced her decision on a pre-taped episode of The View this morning. She noted that no one involved with the show has tested positive for the virus, but since she is 77 she wanted to be extra mindful of her health. Joy arrived at her decision after talking to her daughter, who is concerned about her mom.
Joy said, “I’m in a higher risk group because of my age, but I’m perfectly healthy. I don’t look my age, but I’m actually up there. The number makes me dizzy.”
Joy will be self-quarantining at home for a week, and will make a decision about returning following that experience. Whoopi Goldberg, Meghan McCain and Sunny Hostin and plan to remain on the show, but other celebrities are also taking precautionary measures.
