According to Fortune, Netflix and the C.S. Lewis Company’s 2018 multi-year deal marked the first time that one company has held the rights to all seven books of the series. Although Lewis himself never sold the rights to his book series, his estate made several deals after his death — that’s how we got the adaptations that have been made so far.
However, while there have been several adaptations of the beloved series, no company has ever been able to adapt all seven books. Disney was the first production company to bring the stories to the big screen, but they only managed to complete two films (The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe and Prince Caspian) before dropping out due to budget issues. Fox took over for the third film (Voyage of the Dawn Treader), but after it failed to perform well at the box office, the series came to an end.
