This week, we reported on a truly harrowing story coming from Dallas, Texas. A man named Juan Vaquero uncovered a grisly case of child abuse when he found his landlord’s six-year-old grandson locked inside the shed near the camper where he was living.
Since the shed was padlocked, Juan couldn’t physically get to him. So, he sat outside the shed, pulled out his cell phone and captured a heartbreaking voice recording of his conversation with the boy.

After speaking with the child, Juan placed a life-saving phone call to Child Protective Services. In turn, he is no longer comfortable living in the camper he was renting from his landlord, and so he is without a home.
However, Juan says he would make the same sacrifice over again if it meant saving a child in need. Just incredible.
As the story is going viral, people from all over the country are hailing Juan a hero. Many have even offered to help him financially through an online fundraiser via GoFundMe that was set up by his daughter.
“My dad lived on the property where he rescued this little boy,” Juan’s daughter writes. “Both Grandparents who mistreated the kid went to jail. Due to my dad’s act of kindness he will no longer be able to live there. The money that is being raised will go towards helping my dad find a new place to stay.”
