Avocados have become such a prevalent part of our current food culture that the expiration date on poking fun at them has come and gone for a while now, but it doesn’t change the fact that they’re a healthy and delicious way to keep you full and are packed with nutrients.

While you might grind it up for some tableside guacamole, or smear it over a fat piece of artisan bread with an over easy egg for good measure, would you make a smoothie out of one, like Kourtney Kardashian does?

Yes, Kourtney Kardashian does love herself an avocado smoothie.

Kourtney has launched her own lifestyle website called Poosh. I’m going to assume that she was heavily inspired by Gwyneth Paltrow’s penchant for off-kilter website names. Like The Pallbearer star’s own company, Poosh covers a variety of different topics and is spearheaded by a well-known public figure. You can find skin-care routines, interesting new tidbits about little-known superfoods, think pieces on re-entering society after quarantine, and recipes.

Last year, she got Twitter users all in a kerfuffle after sharing her “signature salad” recipe which is comprised of three thinly sliced avocado pieces, two hard-boiled eggs, a sliced tomato, and two fresh mozzarella balls. Salt and pepper are sprinkled on to taste.

Many people scoffed at the idea of this even being considered a “salad.” While some traditional Italians said it would definitely qualify as a salad in their house.

It’s hard to contest that the plate doesn’t pack a decent amount of protein (12 grams from the eggs, about 3g for the avocado, and 13g for the mozzarella balls) along with healthy fats. But some who saw the recipe couldn’t help but feel like they need a little more sustenance added to that “signature salad.”

But the ‘Poosh’ avocado smoothie might be more your thing if the salad isn’t.

Poosh prefaces the recipe by stating: “The fat-filled ingredient offers nearly 20 vitamins and minerals. Since avocados are high in fat, it’s best to eat the fruit in the morning so your body can burn the calories throughout the day. Kourt recently updated her recipe by swapping honey for dates. This tweak still adds a bit of sweetness and provides an additional source of fiber.”

So there you go! If you were craving something sweet, then this avocado smoothie has got you covered. Here’s how you make it:

Get a blender and toss in:

  1. One avocado (peeled and no pit, of course)
  2. 1 cup of milk (plant based preferred)
  3. Vanilla protein powder (1 scoop)
  4. 1/4 teaspoon of MCT oil
  5. 2 tsp of honey or dates
  6. A stick of brain-on

Blend till liquid-ey and drink the heck out of it.

If you’re wondering with “brain-on” is, it’s apparently a dietary supplement that’s supposed to help with mental functions, like “increased concentration” and “clarity” along with improving one’s “mood.” I’m assuming this is the dish’s key ingredient, as a mood-booster is definitely needed once you forego a normal breakfast so you can drink Swamp Thing vomit.

OK, maybe I’m being too harsh about the avocado smoothie; let’s see what people who actually made it and taste it had to say.

Well, at least Kourtney says it makes her feel great. I don’t think those avocado smoothies helped her from catching Kim’s hands, though.
