Gwyneth Paltrow has long taken a modern approach to… well, just about everything in her life.
The Avengers actress made headlines when she and her then-husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, announced they were “consciously uncoupling” (also known as getting divorced) after 10 years of marriage back in 2014. In September, she married again, this time to TV producer Brad Falchuk. Recently, Gwyneth opened up about their unconventional living arrangements — namely that they don’t “officially” live together, despite having become husband and wife nine months ago.
In an interview with the Sunday Times, the actress explained that her husband spends three nights every week at his own Brentwood, Los Angeles home, where he stays with his two kids from his first marriage. The other four nights of the week, Brad stays with Gwyneth at her home, where she lives full-time with her kids, daughter Apple and son Moses, from her previous marriage.
While she realizes their set-up isn’t exactly traditional, Gwyneth also doesn’t seem too stressed about it.
“Oh, all my married friends say that the way we live sounds ideal and we shouldn’t change a thing,” she said in the interview, per the Huffington Post.
Last week, Variety reported that Brad had put his Brentwood home up for sale, which could mean that the “ideal” split living arrangement could be coming to an end soon regardless.
Despite being remarried for less than a year, this isn’t the first time her relatively unconventional new marriage has made headlines. In a true testament to her stellar co-parenting relationship with her ex, Gwyneth revealed in a January appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan that her ex-husband joined her and Brad on their honeymoon. Apple, Moses, Brad’s two kids, and some of the couple’s friends all tagged along for a trip to the Maldives over Christmas.
“It was a very modern honeymoon,” she joked.
