Teresa Tatlock, 58, lost her previous partner to cancer. When she met and fell in love with a man named Terrell, they learned they shared that in common; Terrell’s previous partner also passed away from cancer.
As Teresa and Terrell deepened their connection, Terrell realized he wanted to propose — but he wanted to get a little creative.
Teresa loves going to the beach, and all things beach-related. She loves going to Holden Beach in North Carolina and looking at all the beautiful shells along the shore.
In the tear-jerking clip below, Teresa’s 9-year-old granddaughter Kaylynn finds a large conch shell sitting on the sand. She picks it up and hands it to her grandmother.
At first, Teresa has no clue there’s actually a handwritten message hidden inside the shell. She’s too enamored with its beauty. After all, the conch did look a bit out of place among all the other “normal” shells and rocks.
But when Teresa looks inside and finds the note, and sees Terrell walking up from behind her, she’s brought to tears.
