Sarah and her husband were playing a casual game of Scrabble with his mom in Shelton, Connecticut.
The couple has been married for over five years and say they’ve been inundated with questions like, “So, are you ever going to have kids?”
There was no one more curious about their answer than Sarah’s mother-in-law, who has been longing for her first grandchild ever since her son got married.
When the couple became pregnant with their first child, they knew they wanted to tell her in a very special way. And what better way for a board-game-loving brood than making the big announcement during a friendly round of Scrabble?
It takes a few turns for the future grandma to understand what the couple had planned for her, but once she realizes she’s been “tricked,” her reaction is pretty priceless.
