Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their intentions to step away from their roles as senior members of the royal family, there have been a flurry of questions about their future. While Harry gathered with other members of the royal family to discuss those changes, Meghan and Archie have been in Canada. Now we’re learning more about where they’re hunkering down in the Great White North.
Meghan has been staying at a $13 million mansion in a gated community on Vancouver Island as this story has played out. The press has seen glimpses of Meghan’s black Lab roaming the property. The picturesque island is about an hour away from Vancouver, British Columbia. Most people reach the island by ferry.
The island boasts a lot of nature trails, which Harry and Meghan were spotted enjoying during their holiday stay. Meghan even took a photo for a young couple during one of their hikes. It wasn’t until later that the couple realized who she was.
While Meghan and Archie lay low, Harry was attending the royal summit to iron out the details of their move. Despite initial reports that Meghan would dial into the meeting, she did not participate. The Queen’s statement following the summit answered some questions but left more in their wake. Did her reference to the two as “Harry and Meghan” indicate that this is a family issue? Some believe it may be an indication that the two are being stripped of their royal titles. That all remains to be seen, although answers are expected in the coming days.
