Natalie Corona grew up with one wish and one wish only: to become a police officer, just like her father.

In 2016, Natalie joined the Davis Police Department near Sacramento, California, as a community service officer. A perfect student and “rising star” in her community, she completed her field training and graduated from the Sacramento Police Department academy. At the age of 22, the rookie cop was so excited to officially begin following in the footsteps of her doting dad, a 26-year veteran of the Colusa County Sheriff’s Department.

But just a few weeks into the job, an unthinkable tragedy struck.

On January 10, 2019, Natalie arrived at the site of a minor vehicular accident when a gunman came out of nowhere and opened fire. Natalie was shot and later died at UC Davis Medical Center.

The fallen hero’s death made national headlines, and more than a thousand attendees grieved at Natalie’s memorial service. In the wake of the shooting, people across the country have heard many stories about Natalie and have come to love and respect her posthumously.

Natalie was a big fan of Dutch Bros. Coffee and a regular customer at the location near her police headquarters. That’s why Dutch Bros. announced it would be raising money for the Natalie Corona Memorial Fund — and the company has exceeded the public’s expectations.
