Back in the 90s, a man named Aaron Long started donating sperm to make some extra money. He’d been teaching English overseas and returned home to start a new chapter.
In 2005, a hopeful mom named Jessica Share and her partner were looking for a sperm donor. Jessica was instantly drawn to Aaron’s profile and chose him to be her child’s donor.
She only knew Aaron as “Donor No. 2008.” They never met and she had no intention of ever seeing him face-to-face.
Though he doesn’t know for sure, Aaron says he has fathered approximately 67 children.
It wasn’t long before Jessica got pregnant and gave birth to her daughter, Alice, thanks to Aaron’s sperm donation.
Over a decade later, Jess and her then-partner broke up. Around that same time in 2017, Alice — now 13 — signed up for an at-home DNA test. When Aaron connected as her DNA match, she sent him a message.
One conversation led to another, and Jessica and Alice formed a friendship with Aaron over the course of five months.
In July 2017, Aaron invited many of the biological children he had so far connected with to visit him Seattle… including Jessica and Alice.
That’s where the story took an even more unexpected turn.
