Mike Pelley, a.k.a Merman Mike, is a diver from Sacramento who dedicates his time to finding — and trying to return — lost items he finds in lakes and rivers.
Mike has found so many different things in his endless search for buried treasures, including phones, bikes, and a $17,000 piece of jewelry that was reunited with its rightful owner.
In August 2020, Mike found a drone at the bottom of a river and it still worked when he turned it on.
He says that while he has found lost drones before, he’s never found one revealing this particular type of footage… showing a very dangerous and very illegal stunt.
“Yeah, it was one of the most heart-racing videos I’ve ever seen,” Mike told ABC10.
Despite the fact his story is going viral, he has yet to find the drone’s original owner.
