Officer Cameron Maciejewski of Detroit, Michigan, pulled up to a house after receiving a phone call about a life-or-death situation — and a baby’s life was at stake.
While his dashcam filmed in the dark, a panicked mother came bolting from her front lawn and seamlessly handed her choking baby to the officer.
The 3-week-old infant reportedly fell unconscious while drinking milk from her bottle.
The baby’s family gathered on the grass, hoping and praying that Officer Maciejewski knew how to get her breathing again … and thankfully, he did.
It’s an unimaginable and surreal moment for any mother to witness, but she literally put her baby in the right hands that night.
“If it wasn’t for Officer Maciejewski’s quick, calm, lifesaving actions, the outcome of this incident could have been tragically different,” the police department says.
