Clint Phillips was so excited to take a hot air balloon ride with his family over the stunning mountain valleys of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
It started as an adventure to check off his bucket list, but now he vows to never step foot on a hot air balloon again.
His balloon was carrying 20 people, including his wife and children.
At first, the adventure was peaceful and serene. The views were incredible.
Clint even noticed the balloon operator was being “overly casual” that day and didn’t seem very concerned about the wind as it picked up.
But then, disaster struck as the wind whipped itself into a frenzy.
Clint says his balloon lost control, billowing up in the air and then quickly slamming itself back down.
“I couldn’t believe how beautiful everything was,” Clint told the Jackson Hole News & Guide. “And then we were in hell a few minutes later. It was crazy.”
Three hot air balloons crashed that fateful day… and Clint filmed the horrifying moments on his cell phone.
The crash killed a mother and her 3-year-old son, injured at least 16 other people.
