Cyndi Renn and her husband were on the market for a new home when they fell in love with and purchased a large two-story farmhouse in Placerville, California. It was exactly what they were looking for and they couldn’t wait to move into their ultimate dream home.

The Renn family started moving in at the start of the weekend. But by that Sunday evening, the move had already become an absolute nightmare.

“It has not been a Happy New year for the Renn family, that’s for sure,” Cyndi wrote on Facebook. “So we just bought what we thought was our dream home. We were in for a big surprise!”

The Renns arrived home in the midst of their move to find doors broken, their belongings destroyed and, worst of all, $15,000 worth of tools gone. Intruders had already broken in and left a complete mess behind.

Cyndi’s husband works as a construction superintendent. Not only did he need these tools for work, but many of them belonged to his grandfather and were passed down from generation to generation.

It wasn’t until Cyndi called the cops to report the burglary that she learned the truth about her new house and its history of drug activity.

“Apparently, we bought the ‘PROBLEM’ house in our neighborhood,” she wrote.

Just as quickly as they fell in love with the home, the Renns thought about moving away and leaving it behind. They felt alone and were so new to the neighborhood that they had no one to turn to.

But then their new community stepped in… and restored Cyndi’s faith in humanity.
