Busy Mom Has Teen Sons Distance Learning From Inside A Funeral Home’s Casket Selection Room

Lisa Bradshaw is a hardworking business owner and mom to two teenage boys. She runs a funeral home called Grissom’s Chapel and Mortuary in San Lorenzo, California.

Sadly, because of the pandemic, there has been a noticeable increase in business throughout funeral homes across the country.

But while Lisa was getting busier and busier at work, her sons were needing some extra help with distance learning at home, since their high school is closed to students right now.

“I am a solo-driven household and my children are first and foremost but equally as important is my staff and the community that I serve,” Lisa told CBS San Francisco.

That’s when she devised an entirely new plan — one that could potentially keep her business going while also giving her sons the focus and quiet they needed.

These days, Lisa’s boys are going into work with her, and “going to school” at the learning pod she set up in the casket selection room.

While may seem a bit morbid to most, this is a normal environment for the Bradshaws.

And now they’re not the only kids going to the funeral home to learn…
