Dominic Steinhauser is 10 years old. He has already been hospitalized over 50 times and has undergone over 40 medical procedures. That’s because he has CHARGE syndrome.
According to ChargeSyndrome.org, CHARGE is a complex and rare genetic condition that can cause life-threatening birth defects, respiratory problems, vision loss and impaired communication.
Another common trait among kids with CHARGE is their tendency to become obsessed with things that may seem mundane and ordinary to most. These obsessions vary from person to person, and for Dominic, his obsession is with big and colorful inflatable lawn decorations.
Naturally, Dominic’s one Christmas wish was for more inflatables. His mom, Deanna, casually shared his wish with her Facebook friends, not thinking much of it.
But then came the deliveries… and days later, dozens and dozens of boxes covered the family’s porch in Frankfort, Illinois.
