Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell are officially engaged! Chandler, 22, and Bindi, 21, have been together for almost six years. Now that they’re finally engaged, they can’t wait to get married.
Chandler proposed to Bindi on her 21st birthday, and she — of course — said yes!
Bindi shared the exciting news on Instagram, writing:
“July 24th 2019 ❤️ On my birthday I said ‘yes’ and ‘forever’ to the love of my life.
Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness. I’m so looking forwarding to spending our forever together as your wife. Here’s to a lifetime of friendship, purpose and unconditional love. — Now let’s get married already!”
Chandler also wrote about the engagement on his Instagram. He said:
“She said YES! ❤️
Almost 6 years ago we met at Australia Zoo. I immediately fell head over heels for her kind and thoughtful heart that radiates so much light. Proposing in her very favorite place in the zoo, surrounded by animals, seemed like the perfect way to embark on this incredible new chapter in our lives. Bee, I love you more than anything in this world and I always will. Happy Birthday.”
They weren’t the only ones excited about the big news. Terri Irwin, Bindi’s mom, took to Twitter to share a picture of the newly engaged couple posing with Terri and son Robert Irwin. She wrote: “Best day ever! Chandler asked and beautiful @BindiIrwin said yes. I am so very happy, and I know Steve would be too. Congratulations!!”
Of course, Bindi couldn’t share the news of her engagement without showing off her stunning ring. In a comment, she told fans all about the ring’s details: “My ring features a lab grown diamond and is made with rose gold recycled metal. Chandler was incredibly thoughtful when he chose it, the ring captures the essence of who I am (with its vintage flare) and our life together, with the twisted band and scattered diamonds.”
