There’s no denying that Amazon delivery drivers have a tough go of the holiday season. One driver in Michigan reached his breaking point, however, and it was caught on camera. The driver is seen placing the package, which reportedly contained a garage door opener, behind his tire before running it over.
The footage provided by Inside Edition shows the driver get out of the car and place the package near his tire. Then, he gets back in the truck and goes forward and in reverse, completely crushing the package’s contents again and again. What’s even more shocking is that the driver can be seen driving away, only to make a U-turn at the end of the block to return that way. Then, he veers onto the wrong side of the street just to run the package over once more.
George Porretta found the crushed package outside his home. He realized it wasn’t addressed to anyone on the block or to a familiar name. Then, he contacted his neighbor to see security footage of the drop-off. They couldn’t believe their eyes.
“I couldn’t believe it,” George said. “I mean, who would ever even think that that would happen? But the real shocking thing was when he went kind of around and down the block and he came back and intentionally veered onto the wrong side of the road to run over it another time.”
Amazon says that the driver is no longer working with their delivery partner.
