Doing an Ironman race is ridiculously challenging — it’s like a marathon, but even more extreme.

Most people don’t dare to do Ironman races, especially not seven months after giving birth. But that’s exactly what Air Force Staff Sgt. Jaime Sloan decided to do.

Jaime chose to participate in a 70.3-mile Ironman (which is also known as a half-Ironman). This race is a triathlon that consists of a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run.

Originally, Jaime planned to stop on the side to pump breast milk for her 7-month-old son before the running portion of the race, but she changed her mind when she realized she might be able to break her personal record.

She had a breast pump, bottle, and towel in her backpack, so she decided to figure something out while on the go. While running, Jaime attached her breast pump and bottle, held her towel over her breast, and pumped breast milk for her baby.

Not only did Jaime need to relieve the pressure in her breasts, she also needed to get milk for her son. Once she was done pumping, she put everything back in her bag.

At the end of the race — 6 hours, 12 minutes, and 44 seconds later — Jaime immediately ran to her kids. She hugged them and loved on them, and then started breastfeeding her son right away.
