Perryn Miller, an 8-year-old boy from North Carolina, was on a family vacation in Utah when he fell ill with painful migraines and vomiting. Doctors believed his new glasses were causing him problems, but scans revealed he had a large and aggressive tumor that was strangling his brain.

He and his family are currently living in the Utah hospital so he can undergo treatment.

And as if the family’s nightmare isn’t terrible enough…

The Millers were also victims of Hurricane Florence, which destroyed their home in August 2018. They temporarily moved in with local family members who were babysitting Perryn’s German shepherd puppy, Frank, while they were in Utah.

Perryn and Frank are best friends. It was heartbreaking for the pair to be separated by 2,300 miles in the wake of his diagnosis.

After Perryn recovered from emergency surgery and as he prepared for chemotherapy, his story spread across social media. Bob Reynolds, a former long-haul truck driver from North Carolina, felt a calling to help the Millers. He came up with an unthinkable plan: to spend the weekend transporting Frank from North Carolina to Utah, just to reunite Perryn with his four-legged companion.

This is an unbelievable act of kindness, and Bob deserves all the recognition for it.
